Will the Vibrlaung Acoustical Percussor treat COVID-19?

   Yes, as the Vibralung is indicated for pneumonia, it is an critical adjunct therapy for treating COVID-19 induced pneumonia and other complications which cause secretions or constrictions of the airways.

   Yes, please contact your physician.

 

Is the Vibralung Acoustical Percussor covered by my insurance?

   More and more insurance companies are reimbursing for the device. The only way to know for sure is to get a prescription from your doctor and submit a claim to your insurance company. Some insurance companies are reviewing this on a case by case basis.

 

How long do the batteries last?

   Each charge should provide 30 - 40 treatments.  It is best to wait for the Low Battery indicator to come on before charging and there is enough charge when the indicator lights is on to finish the current treatment.

 

How long does it take to charge?

   A complete recharge should take a couple of hours or less.  Use only the 15v charger that comes with the Vibralung.

 

Can I use this while on oxygen?

   Yes, there is no need to remove your oxygen therapy nasal cannula while you using the Vibralung Acoustical Percussor.

 

Can I use this with a nebulizer?

   The Circulaire® II Hybrid is the nebulizer system approved for use with the Vibralung Acoustical Percussor.  The Vibralung Patient Kit includes an Aerosol Y-adapter that allows interfacing the Circulaire to the Hand-held Transducer(HHT) or to the Home Care Unit (HCU).

 

Can I use this with a tracheostomy tube?

   The Vibralung Acoustical Percussor may be used with a tracheostomy tube, using the Vibralung trach interface kit.

Do I need to use this with another device?

   The Vibralung Acoustical Percussor is a stand alone solution to improve lung function and reduce clinical sysmptoms.  However, the Vibralung Acoustical Percussor can be used in conjunction with a nebulizer to assist in the delivery of respiratory drugs.

 

Are the frequency ranges safe to use?

   Yes, it is safe. The frequency ranges used by the Vibralung Acoustical Percussor are within the frequency ranges of the human voice.

 

How often can I use it?

   For treatment modes L-Low, M-Medium and H-High a couple of hours should be allowed inbetween treatments to allow the body to mobilize the mucus and secretions. For R2 and R5 treatment modes generally 5 to 10 minutes of treatment time is sufficient.

 

Do I have to use it everyday?

   Please follow your doctor's instructions and read our Recommended Treatment Plans for further information.

 

If my symptoms get better can I stop using the device?

   For acute conditions, generally yes, once the illness has resolved treatments may be stopped.  For chronic conditions, you may be able to move to a maintenance schedule which includes treatments on an as-needed basis.
