Quick Start Guide

The Vibralung Acoustical Percussor is battery operated and comes with an AC charge adapter. The batteries will be mostly charged when you take the device out of the box. It is recommended that you charge the Treatment Control Unit (TCU) batteries to full capacity before using the device.

Once the batteries are charged, unplug the charger from the TCU. It will not operate while it is plugged into the AC charge adapter.

Treatment Control Unit (TCU): Plug the HHT cable into the TCU and attach the y-adapter and mouthpiece.

The Vibralung Acoustical Percussor was designed to be used in a busy hospital setting treating multiple patients throughout the day and then to be recharged between shift changes so it will be ready to be used again. For a single patient using either device model the batteries could last a couple weeks or more on a single charge depending on the treatment plan.

Advanced Features:

Treatment Hold feature, which keeps the L-Low, M-Medium, or H-High treatment at the same tone pattern for up to 2 mins.  Press current selected setting button, L-Low, M-Medium, or H-High to enter hold, press again to release if want to exit before the 2 mins.  Can pause while in hold.  Time in hold is added to the total treatment time.  Hold is indicated by the Power button flashing.

Skipping feature, which allows the user to skip forward or back to get to a desired sound frequency.  Forward skipping is done by pressing and holding the current selected setting button, L-Low, M-Medium, or H-High .  Downward skipping is done by pressing and holding the current selected setting button, L-Low, M-Medium, or H-High and at the same time pressing and holding the Power button.

General Treatment Plan:

Low - larger airways

Medium - middle or medium sized airways

High - distal or smaller airways

Start with a L treatment followed by an R2 or R5 treatment

progress to a M treatment followed by an R2 or R5 treatment

then to a H treatment followed by an R2 or R5 treatment

Depending on the patient's condition the doctor may want to give the L-Low treatment a couple times a day followed by R2, for a few days or weeks, until mucus production diminishes, before progressing to the M-Medium treatment followed by R2.  Again the patient will continue to use M-Medium until mucus production diminishes, and then move to the H-High treatment, though occasionally using L-Low, or M-Medium. It is recommended to follow the L-Low, M-Medium, or H-High treatment with an R2 or R5 treatment.

Generally the patient will do two treatments per day, but one or two more may be added in case of exacerbation of symptoms.

For acute conditions such as pneumonia, the patient may start with M-Medium followed by R2 or R5, two to three times a day, and if mucus production diminishes, move to H-High treatments.

Allow a couple hours or longer between any of the L-Low, M-Medium and H-High treatments so the body has time to mobilize the mucus and secretions out. The R2 and R5 treatments can be given as needed.
